To all YVTP Members,
We are pleased to announce that the meeting is being catered. All you need to do is bring your appetite. If you would like, bring your own soft drink in cans (no alcohol). We will meet in Statesville on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 7 pm. Same location - Covenant Presbyterian Church Educational Building.
It was on December 16, 1773 that the Tea Party emerged as the Boston Tea Party. And then reemerged in 2009 (TEA - Taxed Enough Already). It has become the voice of fiscal sanity. It is restoring the natural God-given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These rights come from God, not the government. Center to that is the freedoms of the First Amendment. The right to speak freely, the right to ask questions (privately or publicly), the right to meet as a free people to raise concerns and hold all elected officials responsible. Most importantly, to worship Christ in private or public settings with no restrictions. Fittingly, the right to secure those freedoms is upon your shoulder and backed by the 2nd Amendment.
In recent years we have seen unprecedented attacks on each and every freedom enshrined by the Constitution. Churches have been burned or vandalized. Historical markers of all types have been pulled down and destroyed. Even local elected officials in many areas have sought to quietly remove historic structures and keep "we the people" from action. Businesses have been plundered. Even our children have been forced to mask, take unnecessary vaccinations, and forced to accept Marxist indoctrination without the consent of the parents.
John Adams informed the nation that, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people."
Founding Father and Supreme Court Justice John Jay informed the nation that, "The Bible is the best of all books, for it is the word of God and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and in the next. ... Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."
Therefore, as we sort through those selecting our votes. Watch for those that attempt to silence free speech. Work to erode our freedoms. Force our children to accept restrictions on natural rights without parental consent. It's called being a responsible citizen in the greatest nation on Earth. We are not "Republican or Democrat strong." We are American Strong. This Christmas we meet to celebrate freedom. And remember, that at its heart is the birth of Christ.
May God Bless each of you!
